Our roots · A legacy of innovation

From pioneering natural-gas conversions to global powertrain engineering

Our story begins with practical engineering for commercial vehicles in post-war Italy. That experience evolved into specialized natural-gas powertrain development and today informs the international work of NGV Motori Global Inc.

1948

The beginning: Truck Service

Founded by the Iori family in Italy, Truck Service began adapting gasoline-powered Jeeps to operate on natural gas—an early example of the practical fuel-conversion expertise at the heart of our heritage.

1997

NGV Motori established in Italy

NGV Motori S.r.l. was founded to advance dedicated natural-gas and dual-fuel engine engineering for commercial vehicles and other applications.

2012–2018

Expansion into the United States

NGV Motori expanded into the U.S. market in 2012. Its earlier U.S. operations developed and certified multiple engine platforms for American applications, building experience in emissions compliance and commercial deployment.

2019

Next-generation powertrain development

NGV Powertrain was established to pursue new cleaner-fuel engine technologies with European collaborators, extending the group's engineering experience.

2022 → Today

NGV Motori Global Inc.

NGV Motori Global Inc. was established as a U.S.-headquartered business, bringing together engineering know-how, technical assets and international relationships from the earlier NGV Motori organization. Today, the company focuses on brand-agnostic natural-gas conversions, diesel dual-fuel systems, commercial-vehicle chassis and the evolution of lower-emission powertrain solutions.

Our historical milestones reflect the evolution of the NGV Motori businesses and their engineering heritage. NGV Motori Global Inc. has operated as the current U.S.-headquartered company since 2022.

Technical depth & experience

Experience built across markets

Engineering heritage

NGV Motori brings together experience in natural-gas combustion, commercial vehicle powertrains, electronics, engine integration and alternative-fuel applications. The US-headquartered company coordinates international engineering and commercialization programs.

A brand-agnostic approach

NGV works with existing engine platforms, fleet operators, bodybuilders and OEM collaborators rather than requiring an entire vehicle to be replaced. Engineering solutions are tailored to each platform and local regulatory framework.

How we work

Technical feasibility, prototype design, calibration, safety review, validation, installation documentation and field training are organized as defined project stages with agreed deliverables.

NGV Motori international collaboration and project discussions

Global collaboration

NGV Motori brings together international teams and local partners to support engineering programs, technical knowledge transfer and the implementation of alternative-fuel solutions across markets.
